Wedding Cake with Buttercream Frosting

1 box white cake mix
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup white granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cup water
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 egg whites, from large eggs

Blend all ingredients with mixer for four or five minutes.  Bake in 325 degree oven in 9x13-inch greased and floured cake pan for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.  Cool and then frost with butter cream frosting made with almond extract.

Butter Cream Frosting

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup Crisco shortening
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon almond extract
5 to 6 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted

In a large mixing bowl, use a mixer to cream together the butter and Crisco.  Add other ingredients and mix until smooth.
