Oatmeal Bread

This recipe was given to me by Donnie Stockin.

4 cups boiling water
2 cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
1 cup whole grain bran, cream of wheat, or cornmeal
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 packages yeast
1 cup warm water

In a large bowl, mix together the boiling water, rolled oats, grain, sugar, salt, and oil.  Let cool for 20 minutes or until lukewarm.

Mix yeast with 1 cup warm water (not too hot or it will kill the yeast), Combine with oat mixture, gradually adding in 10 cups of flour.  Knead on a floured board until elastic, and shape into 4 or 5 round loaves.  Place on greased cookie sheets, let rise.  Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
